Billy Mitchell & Bob FoxBob Fox and Billy Mitchell at The Memorial Hall, Reeth - 12th October 2007

We have just returned from a weekend break in Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales. Billy and Bob playing in Reeth, one of our favourite places, too good to be true? No, we were there on Friday night, to be a part of a packed, enthusiastic audience in the village hall and what a treat it was.

In Reeth they were fabulous with a great selection of songs from both of their extensive collections and with some great additions that we really enjoyed including Lennon/Mcartney`s "If I Fell" which was terrific and closing with "Monday Monday".

Billy`s much acclaimed album "The Devils Ground" featured well with the title track as well as "Shiftin to the toon", " The Collier Laddies Wife", "Home is where the heart is" and "The Pitman and the Blackin"." Born at the right time" is always great to hear and "Meet me on the corner" an everlasting Rod Clements classic.

Bob`s " The Galway Shawl" really kicked off enthusiastic singing from the capacity crowd which continued with many other great songs such as "Sally Wheatley", ", The Ramblin Rover", "The Gateshead Lass" , Jimmy Nail`s "Big River" to mentioned only a few. Great humour and banter all combined to give a fantastic night of top entertainment.

As I may have said before, go and see them, you are in for a treat, from 2 great musicians and entertainers!

Cheers, Billy and Bob!

Nick & Sheila.
